Historical Background

Established in 1942 by Alfonso Chadwick Errázuriz, Viñedo Chadwick is a testament to the Chadwick family’s enduring passion for viticulture. Located in the Maipo Valley, specifically in Puente Alto, the estate originally spanned 300 acres dedicated to high-quality red wine production. In 1967, the family sold a portion of the land to Concha y Toro, retaining 25 acres as their homestead. Alfonso’s son, Eduardo Chadwick, joined the estate and, following his father’s passing in 1993, continued the family’s pursuit of excellence in winemaking.

Vineyard and Terroir

The 15-hectare vineyard is situated at 650 meters above sea level in Puente Alto, an area renowned for its exceptional terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon. The soils consist of a 40 cm clay-loam layer over an alluvial stratum rich in stones, providing excellent drainage. This unique combination of altitude, soil composition, and climate contributes to the vineyard’s ability to produce wines of remarkable refinement and freshness.
